Engineering. Surveying. Planning. Design.
Point Design Group provided detailed surveying services for St. Mary of the Mount Church, a historic landmark located in the Mount Washington neighborhood overlooking downtown Pittsburgh. Known for its prominent setting and architectural significance, the site required a thoughtful and precise approach to surveying within a constrained and highly visible environment.
The project included boundary and topographic surveys to support ongoing planning and site improvements. The steep terrain and dense surrounding development presented unique challenges, requiring careful coordination and fieldwork to ensure accurate data collection while maintaining safety and minimizing disruption to church operations and the surrounding community.
Point Design Group utilized advanced survey technology and established control to capture detailed site information, providing a reliable foundation for design and decision-making. Particular attention was given to elevation data and site features critical to working within the hillside conditions characteristic of Mount Washington.
Through its experience in complex urban and topographically challenging environments, Point Design Group delivered precise and dependable survey data—supporting the continued stewardship and improvement of St. Mary of the Mount as a valued historic and community landmark.
