
Bellwood Borough Authority Waterline Replacement Project
The Bellwood Borough Authority contracted Point Design Group to assist them in preparing plans and specifications, contract award administration and construction observation.
Point Design Group was able to provide 100 homeowners, many with contaminated wells, to be connected to safe drinking.
Point Design Group was retained by ACTION HOUSING, INC.to perform the civil site design for 6 story Apartment Building for Veterans and Seniors. The Apartments features 41 one and two-bedroom apartments. Morris Knowles’s tasks included the site design, municipal approvals through Forest Hills Borough, and Allegheny County Planning Approvals. Morris Knowles also performed the site survey, ALTA survey, and civil site design, utility coordination, stormwater management design and landscape design to secure the necessary permits for the project.
The project received funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). We prepared the construction plans, planning documentation and application paperwork on a fast-track schedule to receive the ARRA funding from Ohio EPA. We performed the bidding services and submitted information to Ohio EPA to obtain a quick award of the ARRA funds. We performed construction administration services (shop drawing review, construction meetings, processing change orders and pay requests and preparing record drawings). We also provided full-time resident representation to observe the construction of the project. Engineering fee was $260,000.

The Bellwood Borough Authority contracted Point Design Group to assist them in preparing plans and specifications, contract award administration and construction observation.

Penn Trafford School District requested Point Design Group to assist with preparing plans and specifications and contract award administration for pipe bursting sections of badly broken sanitary sewer lines next to and around their football stadium due to sewer water escaping and penetrating through an embankment onto neighboring property.

Point Design Group was hired by the Upper Tyrone Township Sewage Authority to design a new sanitary system for 602 residents which had failing private on-lot systems.

Point Design Group performed the surveying and design of the 2,700 feet of 12 inch waterline and 100 feet of 8 inch waterline.

Point Design Group was hired by the City of Canton to design the bank stabilization and 72″ sanitary sewer replacement for an area where the bank was slipping towards the creek.

Point Design Group is the engineer for the Village of Lakemore and was hired to design a replacement 6 inch waterline approximately 890 feet long along Martha Avenue in the Village of Lakemore.
