Village of East Canton

Point Design Group enabled the Village to cost-effectively rehabilitate the water tower and replace the water main with no disruption to the Village’s water supply.

Point Design Group partnered with the Village of East Canton, Ohio, to provide surveying and engineering for the Water Tower Rehabilitation and Center St Water Line Replacement Project. Point Design Group developed an innovative solution for taking the water tower out of service while ensuring the Village maintained sufficient pressure in the water system.

The design included the installation of three temporary portable hydropneumatic tanks connected to the tower’s control panel to allow communication to the booster pumps to ensure that the Village’s water system maintained proper pressure throughout the duration of the project. While out of service, the tower was rehabilitated and relined to enable the tank to continue to safely and reliably serve the community.

In addition, the project involved replacing more than 1,400’ of 8” water main and resurfacing Center St. We also assisted the Village in obtaining the needed permits for the project. The project’s total value was approximately $650,000.
