St Clair Township – CBDG Road Paving
Point Design Group was contracted by St. Clair Township in Westmoreland County to provide engineering design and construction period services on three roadway widening and surfacing projects within the Township.
Point Design Group identified alternatives that not only improved the pavement conditions, drainage, and lighting on the Akron-Canton Airport entrance road and parking areas but also reduced congestion in front of the terminal and simplified ingress and egress.
Point Design Group was selected by the Akron-Canton Airport to study alternatives and complete the detailed design for a major reconstruction of the Entrance / Exit for Loop Road at the airport. Work on the project included a field topographic survey of the entire entrance and exit road, as well as the parking lot areas located inside and surrounding this loop road.
Multiple alternatives were studied and evaluated for revisions to ingress and egress points for all parking, rental car, and taxi queuing areas, and for providing additional commercial lanes in front of the terminal. The project also involves replacing existing waterlines, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers within the work limits and upgrading the lighting and signage. New concrete curbing and asphalt pavement will be provided throughout the project. Hammontree is currently providing Construction Administration on this project.

The 14-foot wide bridge reconnects the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath at a location where an aqueduct once transported canal boats over the river. The reemergence of the towpath as a recreational corridor was the driving force in providing this safe passage along this section of the towpath.

Point Design Group identified alternatives that not only improved the pavement conditions, drainage, and lighting on the Akron-Canton Airport entrance road and parking areas but also reduced congestion in front of the terminal and simplified ingress and egress.

This project marks Ohio’s first “Contraflow” bike lane and Stark County’s first dedicated bike lane. Point Design Group received three awards for this Canton, Ohio project, in 2014.

Point Design Group team was hired by the Stark Park District to complete the planning and design for this bridge over IR-77 that reconnects the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath between Fort Laurens in Bolivar and the Village of Zoar.

Point Design Group teamed with H.R. Gray of Akron, Ohio, for this new $9.9 million Downtown Transformation Design-Build Project.
